m-chapoutier-condrieu-invitare-2023
M. Chapoutier Condrieu Invitare 2023

Invitare is M. Chapoutier's Condrieu, made from pure Viognier from several plots within the appellation in Northern Rhône. The vineyards are located on steep slopes with predominantly granitic soils, around Condrieu, Chavanay, and Limony.

The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness and pressed. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, partly in wood; this is followed by aging on the lees in barrels and demi-muids, contributing to the breadth of the texture.

A full-bodied white with an enveloping texture that retains its drive thanks to a perceptible tension on the palate. The structure supports the volume without making it rigid: the texture is round and soft, with a sense of density that accompanies its progression. White peach, apricot, and candied fruit intertwine with acacia flowers, lychee, and pineapple, while a vanilla nuance emerges on the finish. The aromatic character of Viognier remains central; the lees contact and time in wood enhance its tactile profile. The style of Invitare thus combines richness, fragrance, and a freshness that gives continuity to the finish.

Producer: M.
