Reasonable Adjustments
Purpose and scope
Grande Passione is a WSET Approved Programme Provider (APP no. 3119) and organises its courses at Atelier del Vino in Verona.
Grande Passione aims to make WSET exams accessible to students with disabilities or other needs that could place them at a disadvantage under standard exam conditions. This policy covers the WSET Level 1, 2 and 3 courses offered by Grande Passione.
What are reasonable adjustments?
Reasonable adjustments are changes to exam arrangements intended to reduce the effects of a known disability or difficulty, without changing the competencies required by the qualification or giving an unfair advantage.
Subject to WSET approval, they may include:
- Additional time to complete the exam.
- Exam materials in large print.
- Assistance from a reader or sign language interpreter.
- Authorised assistive technology.
- Changes to the arrangement of the exam room.
Adjustments do not change the assessment criteria. They cannot remove an essential competency required by the exam, such as tasting at Level 3.
How to apply
Contact JC Viens at contact@grandepassione.com before completing your enrolment to discuss your needs and receive guidance on submitting a request.
Grande Passione must receive your complete application at least 30 working days before the exam date. This allows us to check the documentation and submit it to WSET within its deadline.
We will ask for:
- Your full name and contact details.
- Your course and exam date.
- A description of your needs and the support requested.
- The supporting documentation required by WSET.
Before sending medical documents or other sensitive information, contact us to agree how to submit them.
Assessment and approval
Grande Passione will help you prepare your application and submit it to WSET. Each request is assessed individually: approval and the arrangements authorised are determined by WSET and are not automatic.
We will communicate the outcome and discuss the practical arrangements with you. Grande Passione will implement the approved adjustments and keep a record of applications.
If you contact us after the stated deadline, we will discuss the available options, but cannot guarantee that adjustments can be arranged for your chosen exam date.
Accessible study materials
If you need study materials in an accessible format, let us know before enrolling. We will check the options and production times with WSET, which may differ from the deadlines for exam adjustments.
Data protection
The information received will be used to manage your application and shared with WSET as necessary for its assessment. Access will be limited to those involved in the process, in accordance with the respective privacy notices of Grande Passione and WSET.
