WSET Course Cancellations and Refunds

Purpose and scope

Grande Passione is a WSET Approved Programme Provider (APP no. 3119) and delivers its courses at Atelier del Vino in Verona.

This policy explains the arrangements for cancelling or transferring a WSET course booking and requesting a refund. It does not limit your applicable statutory rights.

Booking confirmation and study materials

Your enrolment is confirmed upon receipt of full payment and confirmation from Grande Passione.

Payment by company bank transfer

For bookings paid by a company by bank transfer, full payment must be received within 7 calendar days of booking and no later than 10 days before the course starts, whichever is earlier.

Please include the order number and participant’s name in the payment reference. For payment enquiries, contact contact@grandepassione.com.

Study materials are provided before the course, according to the arrangements communicated in your booking confirmation, so that you can prepare in advance.

Cancelling at least 14 days before the course

If we receive your cancellation request at least 14 calendar days before the first teaching day, you may choose:

  • A refund, subject to the arrangements for study materials explained below; or
  • A transfer to another available course at the same level.

No administration fees apply to cancellations or date changes made within this deadline. You may change dates more than once, provided each change is made at least 14 days before the start of your currently booked course.

Transfers are subject to available places on a course at the same level. For transfers involving a price difference, contact us before proceeding: we will explain the amount for your acceptance. If no available date suits you, you may choose a refund, subject to the conditions for study materials.

Cancelling less than 14 days before the course

If we receive your request less than 14 calendar days before the first teaching day, a refund is not automatically available under this cancellation policy.

If illness or another unavoidable circumstance prevents you from attending, contact us as soon as possible. We will consider whether a transfer to a later course can be arranged.

A transfer cannot be guaranteed. Any unavoidable additional exam registration costs will be explained and agreed with you before proceeding.

Your applicable statutory rights remain unaffected.

Non-attendance

If you do not attend and have not notified us, a refund or transfer is not automatically available.

If an emergency prevented you from contacting us beforehand, please get in touch as soon as reasonably possible so that we can consider the circumstances.

Dispatch of study materials

Textbooks are dispatched approximately 10 days before the course begins, once the course is confirmed to go ahead. This refers to dispatch; delivery times depend on the postal or courier service.

For WSET Level 1, the examination takes place on the same day as the course. For WSET Levels 2 and 3, the examination takes place at least six weeks after the final teaching day, allowing time for independent study and revision. Teaching and examination dates are shown on each course page before purchase.

If the course does not go ahead, you may choose between a full refund of the course fee paid and a transfer to an agreed alternative date.

Study materials already received

If you cancel and are entitled to a refund, you may return the textbook you received or choose to keep it.

If you choose to keep it, the corresponding amount, including VAT, will be deducted from your refund: €30 for WSET Level 1, €50 for WSET Level 2 and €85 for WSET Level 3. No deduction will be made for textbooks you have not received.

If you return the textbook without annotations, highlighting or damage beyond what results from the handling necessary to inspect it, no deduction will be made for the textbook.

Annotations, highlighting or other damage do not automatically prevent a return. Any deduction will be limited to the actual reduction in value, assessed individually and explained to you, in accordance with applicable law. The full textbook cost will not be deducted automatically.

To arrange a return, email contact@grandepassione.com, quoting your order number. Requesting return instructions is not a condition for exercising your statutory right of withdrawal.

You may return the textbook in person at the Atelier, by appointment and at no charge, or post it to: Grande Passione – Atelier del Vino, Via Mario Morgantini 2A, 37128 Verona, Italy.

If the participant cancels, they are responsible for return postage, unless applicable law provides otherwise.

If Grande Passione cancels the course or changes the confirmed dates and you choose a refund, you will receive the full course fee paid, without deductions for study materials or administration fees.

Your rights under applicable law, including any statutory right of withdrawal, remain unaffected.

If Grande Passione cancels or changes the course date

Grande Passione may cancel a course before it begins, including if enrolment is insufficient.

If we cancel your course or change a confirmed course date, we will inform you promptly.

You may choose:

  • A full refund; or
  • A transfer to an alternative date that you agree to.

You will not be required to accept a credit or an alternative date. If you choose a full refund in these circumstances, no administration or study-material charge will be deducted.

Exam postponements and resits

Postponing an exam or booking a resit may require a new registration and additional payment. Any applicable costs will be explained before you confirm the arrangement.

If illness or another exceptional circumstance affects your exam, please also consult our Special Consideration Policy.

A special consideration request is separate from a cancellation or refund request and does not automatically entitle you to a refund.

How to manage your booking

You can cancel or change your booking date using the link in your confirmation email, up to 14 days before your booked course begins. You will receive confirmation by email.

Cancelling online does not trigger an automatic refund. We will review the amount due under this policy and confirm how your refund will be handled.

To change just one participant in a group booking, arrange a transfer involving a price difference, make a request after the deadline, or get help with the system, email contact@grandepassione.com. Include the participant’s full name, course, date and order number.

For determining whether a deadline has been met, we use the date and time the change is recorded in the system or your email request is received.

Your statutory rights

The arrangements above are our commercial cancellation policy. They do not exclude or restrict any mandatory right of withdrawal, refund or other protection available under applicable law.

The deadline of 14 days before the course is separate from any statutory withdrawal period that may apply after purchase.
