Alta Vista Premium Estate Malbec 2022

Alta Vista’s Premium Estate Malbec is a pure Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina. The Estate range showcases grapes from the winery’s vineyards in Luján de Cuyo and Valle de Uco, with a style that combines ripe fruit and a well-defined structure.

A portion of the wine is aged in French oak, while the rest retains its fruit character without the same influence of wood. For the 2022 vintage, Revista ADEGA reports that 50% of the volume was aged for twelve months in barriques.

A Malbec with good body with ripe fruit and a pulpy texture that adds volume without weighing down the palate. The acidity keeps the progression lively, while the fine tannins offer a slightly chewy grip and a rounded texture. Plum, cherry, and small red and black fruits intertwine with violet, herbs, and sweet spices. The oak adds measured nuances of toast and cocoa, allowing the varietal character to remain distinctive. The partial oak aging creates a style in which rich fruit, freshness, and tannic texture support one another, with a fleshy, spicy finish.
