100% Albariño from the Rías Baixas DO, produced by Bodegas Gerardo Méndez in Val do Salnés, Galicia. It is Do Ferreiro's historic cuvée, an expression of a territory close to the Atlantic and characterized by predominantly sandy soils over granite bedrock.
The grapes come from vineyards between 10 and 50 years old, mostly grown on pergolas. In the winery, destemming, cold skin maceration, and pressing are carried out; fermentation is started with a pied de cuve and the wine is aged on fine lees in steel tanks.
A medium-bodied Albariño, with measured fruit concentration and a lively acidity, well-integrated into the structure. The texture is silky and juicy: the work on fine lees gives continuity to the sip without attenuating its freshness. The aromatic profile combines ripe fruit, citrus fruits, and white flowers, accompanied by iodine notes. Steel vinification maintains a clear definition of the fruit, without an aromatic imprint of wood. The Atlantic origin is recognized in the relationship between freshness, salinity, and contained volume, with a dry and persistent finish that prolongs the citrus and saline sensations.
