A Chardonnay from Burgundy, grown in Les Clos, one of Chablis’s Grand Cru vineyards. Domaine Christian Moreau farms around three hectares on this south-facing slope, with vines over fifty years old rooted in Kimmeridgian limestone and clay.
The grapes are harvested by hand. Maturation takes place partly in stainless steel and partly in predominantly used barrels, preserving the vineyard’s expression.
A full-bodied Chablis Grand Cru with pronounced concentration, supported by lively acidity that gives direction to the richness of the fruit. The texture is broad and dense, slightly creamy, with a drier grip on the finish. Ripe citrus, pear and nectarine mingle with white flowers, iodine-like notes and hints of almond and oak. Partial barrel maturation adds volume and complexity without dominating the aromatics. The relationship between depth, salinity and tension defines a generous, structured style in which the breadth of Les Clos retains a precise, persistent finish.
