Barolo made from Nebbiolo exclusively from the Prapò vineyard in Serralunga d’Alba. This southeast-facing vineyard lies at an altitude of between 330 and 370 metres on clay-limestone soils interspersed with layers of sand: an origin that reflects the structured, austere character of this interpretation by Ettore Germano.

The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed and crushed; fermentation takes place in steel with a long skin maceration of around 40–45 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for 18–24 months in 20–25-hectolitre oak barrels, followed by at least twelve months in the bottle.

A full-bodied Barolo with concentration that retains definition thanks to its lively acidity and pronounced tannic structure. The texture is dense and compact, with fine yet still firm tannins that accompany the palate and give the finish a dry character. Cherry, raspberry and flowers intertwine with aromatic herbs, licorice and spices. The long maceration adds depth to the texture, while ageing in large barrels allows the precision of the fruit to come through. Serralunga’s character is expressed through firmness and persistence, in an intense and composed style where energy supports the weight.
