Marqués de Cáceres Crianza 2022

Tempranillo-dominant Rioja Crianza, from small plots in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa on predominantly clay-limestone soils. Hand-harvesting follows the ripening of the individual zones.

Fermentation in steel after destemming, with maceration for up to twenty days. Aged for twelve months in French and American barriques, followed by at least one year in the bottle.

A medium-bodied Rioja with an enveloping volume and a structure that favors integration over firmness. Velvety tannins accompany the sip without drying it out excessively, while balsamic and minty notes enliven the finish. The aromatic profile combines ripe black fruit, sweet spices, and licorice, with a delicate oak imprint. Aging in wood contributes to the softness of the texture and the aromatic complexity, while keeping the fruit clearly recognizable. The result is a round and composed style, in which moderate density, a smooth texture, and aromatic freshness come together toward a flavorful finish.
