Ponzi Pinot Noir from the Laurelwood District in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. The selection includes estate vineyards and fruit from growers with whom the winery has long collaborated.
The 2021 vintage combined fruit ripeness with cool nights late in the season, preserving acidity and aromatic intensity.
A medium-bodied Pinot Noir with concentrated fruit and more structure than its color suggests. Freshness supports the volume, while fine but slightly grainy tannins provide grip and continuity to the texture. Raspberry, blueberry, and dark cherry intertwine with dried rose, lavender, and sage, along with black pepper and nutmeg. The texture is generous without becoming heavy, accompanied by spice that lingers through the finish. Laurelwood’s signature emerges in this interplay of fruit, tension, and earthy texture, with a progressive development and a dry, persistent finish.
