Filius interprets Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon through a blend of 90.4% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9.6% Malbec.
Spontaneous whole-berry fermentation involves an average of fifteen days on the skins. This is followed by eleven months in previously used French barriques, aged one to five years.
A medium-bodied red, with fruit concentration that retains agility thanks to freshness and dry, powdery tannins. The entry is juicy, the texture soft and silky, while the finish gains a more defined grip. Dark plum and blackcurrant intertwine with violet, bay leaf, cedar, and a hint of dark chocolate. The Malbec contributes to the fruit pulp without altering the Cabernet profile. Spontaneous fermentation and used French oak support a clear and composed style, in which the volume remains measured and the tannic structure supports the persistence.
